The Marble Price Index is an open dataset of natural-marble prices: slab prices per square foot by stone type and factory-direct price ranges for finished marble products. Marble pricing is famously opaque — the same Calacatta slab can differ 3× between two showrooms. We publish the numbers so buyers can anchor a negotiation before asking for a quote.
Slab ranges are compiled from published supplier and fabricator pricing, checked against import statistics, and updated as the market moves. Ranges marked market estimates have not yet been verified against a specific invoice; verified factory pricing from our partner mill in China is being added stone by stone. An estimate is always labelled as one — that rule is inherited from our sister index,Coloprice. Units, sources, dates and validity are spelled out on the methodology page.

Quote requests are fulfilled by a partner marble mill in China with its own block sourcing, gang saws, CNC and carving workshop. That is the business model, stated plainly: the index is free and independent; if you want the prices it describes, the factory bids for your order.
Index data is published under CC BY 4.0: quote it, name «Marble Price Index» and link the page the number came from. Each stone and product has its own URL carrying the price and its date (2026-08-14).
